My Story
I’m Debbie Romano, the founder of Fountain Hills Healthy Heartbeats. My health Journey Began one hot summer morning (July 3rd in 2012) when my husband, Al, and I were preparing for what we thought would be a peaceful holiday.
The day took a dramatic turn when Al experienced a near-fatal cardiac event. It was a wake-up call that shattered my conventional understanding of nutrition and wellness. The heart-healthy diets suggested seemed insufficient, riddled with what I felt were heart-harming elements. This moment of clarity ignited a spark within me, pushing me to delve deep into nutrition.
Armed with a fervor for change, I embarked on a quest for knowledge. I devoured countless books, research articles, and insights from top nutrition professionals.
I earned my Nutrition and Wellness Certification through the American Fitness Professionals & Associates and furthered my expertise with a Certification in Plant-Based Nutrition from the Campbell Center for Nutritional Studies at eCornell University.
I focus on personalized, behavior-based counseling. My aim is to guide clients towards healthier habits that they can seamlessly integrate into their daily lives.
My Approach
I emphasize the mind-body-spirit connection within a whole food plant-based diet (WFPB) and show how embracing these aspects can improve your overall health. My goal is to help you adopt nourishing, wholesome nutrition so you can age gracefully, feeling more energetic, confident, and at peace.
